THE EVOLUTION OF THE “deltaZERO THINKING”
6 Projects - Icon
6 chosen icon-projects, although modest in size, represent the evolution of deltaZERO thinking over the last 20 years.
Our operative line is in fact characterised by the search for a balance between technology and simplicity, between respect for the environment and financial rigour, always respecting a linear design.
The development phase in the way we operate in the 2000's is in fact marked by experimentation aimed at achieving a difficult balance between professional ethics and the market.
By "ethics" we refer to the respect of the basic principles that animate us as architects and designers also in relation to social development and the environment, by "market" we mean the client with his needs of psychophysical and economic well-being expressed and latent.
Curiously enough, 5 of the 6 projects that represent the development of our design thinking are those in which the partners of the firm wanted and often had to take part in the financial risk of the real estate investment, avoiding the upheaval of the design concept in the executive phase.
First low-energy building constructed by deltaZERO.
Maximum simplicity in the design of volumes and systems.
SWISS NATIONAL INSURANCE COMPANY
Conversion of an old villa into an administrative building (renovation and extension).
Linearity and flexibility of use of the new built block.
We proposed to the client to realise one of the first examples of a building for non-residential use with low energy consumption.
Building for flexible residential and real estate use, built on a narrow tongue of land on a steep slope.
Facade completely lined with etched glass.
Natural ventilation system invisible from the facade and highly soundproof.
A mixed residential and administrative building, which represents our design philosophy; it was designed as the headquarters of deltaZERO and the residence of its founders.
The building is a concentrate of technology, applied to obtain a completely glazed block without external solar protection, without emissions into the atmosphere and such as to cover the energy needs for heating and hot water.
Renovation of a medieval castle (11th century) in a holiday home.
The ancient walls have been completed with glass elements.
The production of the photovoltaic roof pitches covers the total annual energy consumption for heating, sanitary use and ventilation.
Residential rental building with flexible apartments (the tenant can choose and change the layout of the space).
The aesthetics is determined by the solar technology integrated in the "skin" of the building.
Building with high comfort (cooling and dehumidification in the summer season) and zero energy consumption.
